Highlight #49

Hey y'all, I just got back from an extremely educational and entertaining time at Mt. Vernon (George Washington's mansion), Virginia. The original estate was almost 8,000 acres, but only 50 of them are open to the public today, but believe me, it doesn't lessen it's magnificence at all. Actually, they have period reenactors who are dressed in 1780s gear, sort of like Ft. Nisqually except everything (other than a few buildings which they don't know what the insides looked like) is perfect! they just had a 100+ million dollar museum/education center built just up the road from the original buildings. It's quite interesting to see how one man's plantation has more buildings on it (I would say at least 25) than Ft. Nisqually had even 80 years later in 1855.

Well, now for a change of pace, guess how many different license plates I have seen since my arrival in Pittsburgh... 2?... 3?...4?... nope, SIX! and one of them you will never believe: Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC (yes they have their own plates) Ohio... and here's the crazy one: Hawaii. <:-D Crazy huh? I was surprised when I saw it. very cool! So anyway, even after all of the events in my crazy vacation, I still have to settle down at night and try (no very successfully) to get some sleep in our hotel room... Can you see where I'm going with this? well in case you haven't, I'll sum up; I'm tired, I'm going to bed, goodbye. :-)
