Highlight #62

Hey y'all, We played "election" today (that's the name I decided upon for 'who wants to run for president'), so far I have 104 electoral votes, mom has 58 and Jonny has 125. unfortunately, the Pennsylvania, New York, and Ohio elections are coming up soon and Jonny is almost sure to win all three, if he does, he'll have 196 electoral votes - putting him dangerously close to the 270 needed to win. But, I have a FIRM grip on Texas, so I'm not sure what will happen but things don't look good for Mom and I.

Well I have to go, Jonny wants to wrestle before we go to bed, so I'll write again once I have rug burns all over my face and head, See ya'!

Wow, the game sounds fun (and very realistic). You must share when you've worked the bugs out of it.

It is fun! and somewhat realistic, I had to combine the nomination stage of the election and the final presidential stage, it's a bit confusing, but it work surprisingly well. The main problem right now is that at hte present course the game will take another 5 hours to play... making a total of 10 hours needed to play one game. Ouch. I have some ideas to shorten it a bit, but it might not do much. :-I

Hmm, ten hours is a little long, but the biggest thing is whether or not the game remains fresh throughout the time. If you're doing the same thing over and over throughout the ten hours, the game is going to stink, but if it's so complicated and you have so many options that it takes ten hours to use them all, you might have something going......

The game is long, but I already have idea to make it shorter, We just have to test it to see if it will work.

The game stays fresh because every primary/caucus is different than the last one, creating chalange for the leader, and a chance for the loser.

I agree with you that some complicated games are fun, like for example, Axis & Allies, it was so confusing for me at first that I thought it was going to bore me to death, but it's actually a fun game. The thing with "election" though, is that if it were coplicated it would bore you to death. Thankfully it isn't very hard to learn.

Thanks for the tips, maybe I can bring the game with me to church or evening service once I finish it :-)
